Traditional Gyros Recipe
A classic Greek dish featuring seasoned meat, fresh veggies, and tangy tzatziki sauce wrapped in warm pita bread.

Meat and Marinade
- 500 g Pork shoulder, thinly sliced
- 3 cloves Garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon Olive oil
- 1 teaspoon Oregano, dried
- 1 teaspoon Thyme, dried
- 1 teaspoon Paprika
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
Tzatziki Sauce
- 1 cup Greek yogurt
- 1 unit Cucumber, grated and drained
- 1 tablespoon Lemon juice
- 2 cloves Garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon Dill, chopped
- 1 tablespoon Olive oil
- 1 pinch Salt
To Serve
- 4 units Pita bread
- 1 unit Tomato, sliced
- 1 unit Red onion, sliced
- 1 cup Lettuce, shredded
In a mixing bowl, combine pork, garlic, olive oil, oregano, thyme, paprika, salt, and pepper. Marinate for at least 30 minutes.
Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the marinated pork until browned and cooked through, about 10-12 minutes.
In another bowl, mix Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, lemon juice, garlic, dill, olive oil, and salt to make tzatziki sauce.
Warm pita bread in a skillet or oven.
Assemble gyros by placing cooked pork on pita bread, adding tomato, red onion, lettuce, and a generous dollop of tzatziki sauce. Roll up and serve.
