Ingredients

  • 2 large green plantains
  • 1 cup vegetable oil for frying
  • to taste salt

Instructions 

  1. Peel the plantains and cut them into 1-inch thick slices.
  2. Heat the oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  3. Fry the plantain slices for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden.
  4. Remove the plantains from the pan and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil.
  5. Using the bottom of a glass or a plate, flatten each plantain slice.
  6. Return the flattened plantains to the frying pan and fry again for 2-3 minutes on each side until crispy.
  7. Remove from the pan, drain on paper towels, and sprinkle with salt to taste.
