Ingredients

  • 2 lbs Collard Greens washed and chopped
  • 4 cups Chicken Broth
  • 1 large Onion chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon Olive Oil
  • 1 teaspoon Salt to taste
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes optional

Instructions 

  1. 1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. 2. Add chopped onion and cook until translucent, about 5 minutes.
  3. 3. Add minced garlic and cook for another minute.
  4. 4. Add collard greens to the pot and cook until they start to wilt.
  5. 5. Pour in chicken broth and bring to a boil.
  6. 6. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for about an hour, stirring occasionally.
  7. 7. Season with salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes to taste.
