Ingredients 

Chicken and Marinade

  • 4 pieces Chicken Thighs bone-in, skin-on
  • 2 cups Buttermilk
  • 1 tablespoon Hot Sauce

Breading

  • 2 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 tablespoon Paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper

Hot Oil

  • 1 cup Vegetable Oil for frying
  • 2 tablespoon Cayenne Pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Brown Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika

Instructions 

  1. 1. Marinate the chicken: In a bowl, combine buttermilk and hot sauce. Add chicken and marinate for at least 1 hour.
  2. 2. Prepare the breading: In another bowl, mix flour, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  3. 3. Bread the chicken: Remove chicken from marinade, dredge in flour mixture, and set aside.
  4. 4. Fry the chicken: Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Fry chicken until golden brown and cooked through, about 6-8 minutes per side.
  5. 5. Make the hot oil: In a small saucepan, heat 1 cup of the frying oil. Stir in cayenne pepper, brown sugar, garlic powder, and paprika. Cook for 1-2 minutes.
  6. 6. Coat the chicken: Brush the hot oil mixture over the fried chicken.
  7. 7. Serve: Serve hot with pickles and white bread.
