Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb Navy beans soaked overnight
  • ½ lb Salt pork cut into chunks
  • 1 cup Molasses
  • ½ cup Brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Dry mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • ½ teaspoon Black pepper
  • 4 cups Water

Instructions 

  1. Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
  2. Drain and rinse the soaked beans. Place them in a Dutch oven.
  3. Add the salt pork, molasses, brown sugar, dry mustard, salt, and pepper to the beans. Stir to combine.
  4. Add enough water to cover the beans. Bring to a boil on the stovetop.
  5. Cover the Dutch oven and transfer it to the preheated oven. Bake for 4 hours, stirring occasionally and adding more water if necessary.
  6. Remove the lid for the last 30 minutes of cooking to allow the beans to brown.
  7. Serve hot and enjoy!
