  • 3 cups self-raising flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoon butter chilled and cubed

Instructions 

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°C (390°F).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt.
  3. Rub the butter into the flour mixture until it resembles breadcrumbs.
  4. Gradually add the milk, mixing until a soft dough forms.
  5. Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead lightly.
  6. Shape the dough into a round loaf and place it on a baking tray.
  7. Score the top of the loaf with a sharp knife.
  8. Bake for 30 minutes or until the loaf sounds hollow when tapped.
  9. Let it cool slightly before serving.
