Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • 2 eggs separated
  • 4 tablespoon butter melted

Instructions 

  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and sugar.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together buttermilk and egg yolks. Add to dry ingredients and mix until combined.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat egg whites until stiff peaks form. Gently fold into batter.
  4. Heat aebleskiver pan over medium heat and brush each cup with melted butter.
  5. Fill each cup about ⅔ full with batter. Cook until bottoms are golden and bubbles form on top, then turn using a skewer or fork.
  6. Cook until golden and cooked through. Serve warm with powdered sugar, jam, or syrup.
